Dear Friend,
It is a joy to have you with us. We do hope that your time with us is a blessing. As you can see, we are in the midst of a Great Adventure, exploring the possibilities God is giving us at First Presbyterian Church to serve. Its faith journey began in 1832 when God called the Rev. Samuel Johnson and elders John Anderson (Mayfield's first settler), Jesse Wells, John Cunningham, and Henry Coulter to help establish the first church in Mayfield. Through the commitment of faithful believers, First Presbyterian church established a legacy of being a serving church, seeking out ways to minister to both the members of its congregation and the people of this community and county.
Today the Great Adventure continues with your presence. Through you, God re-affirms God's desire to use the gifts and talents of this church to assist and minister to those who are seeking to deepen their understanding of what it means to be God's servant.
If you haven't made a commitment to Jesus Christ, allow us the privilege of sharing with you the grace and love of Jesus Christ and to experience through us what God can do in your life. After taking that step of faith of accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, we would love for you to prayerfully consider joining with us that we may share in God's Great Adventure together. To do this, you are invited to proclaim your new found relationship with Jesus Christ by making a Profession of Faith. If you already have a relationship with Christ, and feel God's leading to join us, you can do so, either by a Transfer of Letter from your previous church, or if for various reasons, you have been away from the church and feel a desire to re-affirm your faith in Jesus Christ, you can do so by making a public Re-affirmation of faith. Again, it is a joy to have you with us.
